Rugby Betting Lines

Posted by admin | Rugby Betting Lines | Wednesday 31 December 2008 9:53 am

Sports betting is a game of skill. The challenge is to gather and analyze as much information as you can about a game, weigh the probabilities of each team winning, and subsequently compare your opinion to the oddsmaker’s. Make the right judgment and you win. It’s as simple as that.

The Super League season may well be over until next year, but there is international rugby league on the horizon with the Tri-Nations rapidly approaching.Australia will be favourites for the Tri-Nations, rugby league’s top international competition, but all Great Britain fans may be tempted into a rugby bet and will be hoping that Brian Noble’s men can at last step out of the shadow of the Aussies and cause a major upset Down Under.New Zealand were shock winners last year but the Aussies in particular, will be looking for revenge on their arch-rivals from across the Tasman Sea.

Meanwhile, the rugby union season is just underway and rugby betting markets are opening up all the time with the autumn internationals set to begin in early November. The cream of the southern hemisphere will take on Europe’s finest and, as well as outright winner markets for each contest, punters will be able to have a first try scorer rugby bet, handicap betting and a possible Grand Slam by any of the touring sides this winter.Looking ahead to the Six Nations, France are expected to head the rugby odds but a new-look England coaching set-up might have something to say about that, while Wales will want to bounce back from their disastrous showing last season.

The World Cup is less than a year away now and England will have to improve if they are to successfully defend their title that they won so dramatically in Sydney in November 2003, when Jonny Wilkinson dropped the all-important goal in the final few minutes of extra-time.Rugby betting is exciting as the rugby odds can change so dramatically with five points for a try and a possible seven for a concerted score meaning the lead can change hands several times during a game. There is so much rugby, in both codes, set to be played in the next year that rugby betting never stops and, with a rugby free bet available on Bet Ob Rugby, why not back up your opinion with a rugby bet on your favourite side.

Rugby Betting Odds

Posted by admin | Rugby Betting Odds | Wednesday 31 December 2008 9:50 am

Big hits, big scores and big action is what rugby is all about. There’s never a dull moment from kick off to the final whistle. Rugby’s popularity has exploded in recent years, and as a consequence, rugby betting has become much more popular as well. The betting odds we show come directly from the online bookmakers. Whilst every effort is made to ensure betting odds are correct and up to date, oddschecker is not liable for any errors that may occur. It is your responsibility to check all aspects of the bet with the bookmaker before placing the bet.If you are new to Rugby betting and your knowledge is limited then do not worry we can help. We have pages on all the major international and club teams from both league and union.

While luck may be a deciding factor in the outcome of any single game, and will inevitably go against you on occasion, it will balance out in the long run. Being a consistent winner in sports betting is not about luck but whether you are prepared to invest the time and effort to become knowledgeable about the sports you bet on, whether you can weigh all the factors in a cool, objective fashion, and whether you adopt a consistent, disciplined, long-term approach to your betting. Do all these and you will come out a winner. Remember, it’s you against the oddsmaker, not the bookmaker.

Rugby Betting Tips

Posted by admin | Rugby Betting Tips | Wednesday 31 December 2008 9:44 am

On this page you can find basic tips to bet on Rugby:

Bet on rugby is one of the best systems of gambling to try and get a long term edge, for several reasons. There is a very important skill element, with some punters knowing a lot more than others. The less skilful punters subsidise the more skilful. By shopping around on diferents websites in the internet searching the best prices you can usually get sportsbooks on head to head events down to under 103%, making it far better than. For example, racing. Sometimes even situations occur where the book temporarily falls to less than 100%. Doing the form on sports betting can be very enjoyable in itself, as is watching the events. This tip can be a good motivator to do the study required.

On this site, Rugby League is an excellent sport on which to launch a serious betting attack. Far more Wagers bet on Rugby matches than know all about this sport. This is partly because it has a very high profile, especially in North Eastern Australia and most people have heard of the leading teams. Like AFL and Rugby League, Rugby Union is also a very tribal sport with very strong allegiances, so there is a lot of emotional money invested in National Rugby League betting. This is not ’smart money’ and hard headed professionals make a very nice living finding value bets that exploit this factor.

Rugy Betting Rules

Posted by admin | Rugby Betting Rules | Wednesday 31 December 2008 9:41 am

This game have a very simple rules as it seems at first. This page should give you a brief outline of the game, how rugby is played and why what happens whether you are a fan or a player. If you need to know about the international rugby board rules, followind you can find this

Ganaral Rules for Rugby:
As you notice, there are no shoulder pads or helmets in rugby .

The ball must be pitched backwards to your teammates. No Forward passes like John Elway. A team can pitch the ball back and forth to each other as many times as they wish. THERE ISN’t BLOCKING to assist your runner. All players runs with the ball and tackles equally. Unlike American Grid-Iron Football where 2 or 3 guys get all the glory and the rest of the team is never given the opportunity to prove themselves and run for a score, all players on the rugby field will run with the ball and tackle over 20 times a game. If you were an offensive lineman and never ran the ball and never tackled this game is for you! Everyone will be a running back and linebacker. When a set dead-ball scrum is formed, that is when the team will get in their SET POSITIONS, but shortly after that when mass chaos breaks out, all players will run and tackle with the ball.

When you are tackled you have only one second to let go of the ball and purposely “fumble” the ball. Don’t touch it again until you are up from the pile and standing on your two feet again. When you TACKLE someone, you can’t pick up the fumbled ball until you are ON YOUR FEET. This is one of the most called penalties on new players. You must be standing up to pick up the ball. You cannot dive on a loose ball.

When you are on defense, and a tackled player is put to the ground, you must make sure you are on YOUR SIDE OF THE “scrumage line” BEFORE you engage in any physical contact with the other team. This is called offside and is one of the most called penalties for all levels of players. This happens when a defensive player is chasing down a runner from behind. The defensive player must run around the ruck pile and enter from the other side to give contact on the ruck pile. This is a very big yardage penalty if you get caught not being on sides on a loose ruck pile.

The game will have 15 players from each team taking the field. When you teammate pitches the ball to you as you are running down the field, and you accidentally drop the ball. It is called a “Knock On”. The other team will get the ball automatically right there for their possession. As you can see, this is the kiss of death when you drop or “Knock On” the ball deep in your own territory by their scoring end zone. This is why we run so many ball-handling drills in practice, to cut down on these penalties.

There are no “Downs” in rugby . An offensive team may have the ball for 20 “phases” or “downs” in a row, if they can keep winning the ruck pile and push over the tackled player to win the ball and regain possession. It is very important to always be in “support” and chasing after your ball carrier at all times. When your offensive player is tackled and there is 4 offensive players running right behind the ball carrier, they should no doubt be able to push over the 2 or 3 defensive players that are at the tackle area or the “ruck pile”. On the other side of the coin, if no offensive players are in support and the ball carrier is tackled, the defense will simply just step over the ball and the ball carrier, to pick up the loose ball. The offensive player must “REALEASE” the ball in 1 second. The Defensive team will just pick it up and run the other way if no offensive support is right there. It is VERY IMPORTANT TO BE IN SUPPORT AND HAVE 4 PLAYERS RIGHT BEHIND A BALL CARRIER. (1)You will be there for a pitch-pass. (2) You are there for a ruck over to win the ball.
